2 Hire more damn staff. Oh, wait you won't because you exploit your help into 6 days and 50+ work weeks. All good. I changed my availablity back to 4 days and they're kicking them selves. Thus exhausting the staff you have into quitting, illness or scheduling extra time off just to have some down time.
3 I have a life outside of work.
4 If I request a day off work there's a reason for it. I worked hard in my 20's to 30's to establish my self and now that I am I am not going out of my way for this damn company any more.
5 God I hope we strike on the next contract. Other areas clearly have and I really hope my area isn't spineless and votes in shi---ty rights over standing up for them selves.
6 I forgot to add on: School started beginning of sept 2024 and I will be reduced hrs until middle of December. I am not paying 1-2k for classes only to fail them because you won't give me time off to tackle the classes. Last time you pressured me into 40 hr work weeks and I barely passed. It tanked my gpa and I had to take a couple cake walk classes to make up for the drop. Yea thanks for thinking availabilities are suggestions instead of half to's. That and at the time our store manager (now fired) sort of screwed everyone over on that.
7. You get no brownie points for giving up extra time to this company. No extra rewards other than them negatively chewing you out for this or that you missed on top of being bi----tched at for being short staffed. Sure your paycheck could be bigger but it isn't worth it. By the time all the over time taxes get taken out you actually end up taking in less. I worked a 44 hr work week once and got a check equivalent to a 38 hr check because of all the daman taxes.
