Kroger pension calculation

Read in handbook its 16 times number of years worked .  So if you work 30 years = $480 month.  Never thought get rich working this job but that seems low.  Is that normal for pensions?

It's based on the number of hours you work-not based on a 40 hour work week

Invest into your personal 401k roth. It is taxed going in not coming out. That's the difference.

I highly doubt the pension will be there upon retirement. If it is great that will just be another tiny check. I do not foresee it there in the future. I started to then stopped after seeing company ceo's steal pensions, liquidate them and they disappear like that. Not safe, not reliable to pension contribute.

I'm having difficulty generating an account with fidelity (new 401k site) and I'll have to call the 800# to assist because it is looping me in an error message. :/

I do not invest into the kroger pension as it is not protected asset and more of a liability risk of it not being there when you retire. You're better off opening your own investment account and try to get ones that protect you up to 1 mill and go from there. If you are a bad saver you can have auto withdraws from your checking account on set allotments and time frames to force you to save and just calculate it as another bill. If you are like me and have good financial habits you can also just do a  once a year deposit of the maximum amt for your age range. If you are not comfortable with that your other options are cd's and money markets. Then just let the interest roll back into the long term growth and it's better than nothing.
