My advice to my coworkers dragging their feet trying to get fired: Don't. It'll take you 2 yrs.

I have seen this happen multiple times were an employee just decides to give up and see how long it will take before they're fired from the company. We had it happen multiple times in the past few years and it gets old. Some stores are more strict about this than others. Due to the union it will take you 2 yrs of getting warnings, write ups and suspensions before you're terminated.

It also hurts your coworkers because all of a sudden the load of work is not distributed fairly, causes your coworkers to pick up your slack and if you start getting flakey and have high call outs this really puts stress on your active coworkers. Please just stop this cat and mouse game.

I had a flakey work history before I came to kroger but then again I was using employers to gain skills then once my maximum potential was at its limit I would move on. This works fine until you get to that point in your career where you might not get hired again because you've had too many jobs and the next employer does not want to risk having a temp short term person who is going to leave after a few months. If you people don't like my wisdom from 40 decades of working then you can live it and experience the hard ships from it. Society especially in the states is not going to hand you a high income on a silver platter. Then you can ride through life on it. No that's not how society works. To start some where you have to start at the bottom and it is unfortunately at low level jobs like these. Please quit on good terms. What you say and how you quit can impact your future employment. Legally they are to say no more than position and date of hire/termination. But I have seen it many times where the hr rep has fibbed about this or that at office gatherings and has determined if you get your job at your next location. Always decline exit interviews as I've learned from experience. This will haunt you for your career.

Kroger is a business and they expect you to behave professionally to the degree they expect of their personnel. If you can not bring your self up to this level just don't even bother. i have been seeing a lot of reddit posts about people complaining about their lack of social skills getting them terminated. I hate to say it but anyone can develop social skills any time of their life. Hell I didn't develop mine until my 30's. This is a skill you can teach your self. Don't just hide this skill in the gutter and let your undeveloped social skills continue to hinder you.

If you require reasonable accommodations you are allowed them stop whining and complaining about how kroger isn't treating you right. Everybody has the right to request reasonable accommodations. Not just individuals with disabilities.

It is weird how they do things. Being inconsistent about some things is like their superpower. Try stealing without permission. Usually they will require that you walk away. No notice, no reason that anyone can discover, no asking for money you are owed (in a few months they will use the money as a lure to get you to walk back into the sore).

Why? They are nuts.
