The floor supervisor is suppose to keep track of who's going home or going on break. If it's time for you to leave, they will either close your lane off and you'll finish ringing up the remaining customers in line, or there will be a replacement checker to take your place. You'll then sign out of the register, punch out, and leave. If neither one of those happens, alert the floor supervisor.
Do we count our own drawer at the end of our shift?
When I was working front end they counted the tray a couple times a day and kept logs on whoever was logged into the machine. It's up to supervisors and frontend manager/backup to keep track of trays, times, drops, and restocks.
