We are lucky if we have 3 check lanes open. Most shifts I have worked so far have only two. Is this a deliberate action by Kroger or just good old-fashioned short staffing?

Yes because the machines wont steal your money, credit card info or try to tell you dErP there is a change shortage so we cant give back change only for the dishonest cashier to pocket the money. Thieves
