Our back room department backs up to the fire system area and for years the company kept turning that area into a storage area for miscellaneous things from other departments due to lack of room. I kept reporting it quietly with and without documentation over the years... Well, there's a new fire marshal in town and he's not turning a blind eye to it like the last one did. He's now telling the company "remove this violation or else..."
Finally, now they're seeing it. Maybe it's just me being overly paranoid about these little things that one day add up to larger violations. But that's because I've had little things like this in other areas crop up through my life and bite me later. Where as if I had caught signs earlier, i could of avoided the whole catastrophe. Kroger has zero contingency plans for stuff like this.
This was a problem in my former store. Certain products were locked up (liquor especially) and there was a huge sign in our warehouse that if it continued, that they would not be allowed to place products in the back anymore
