what do your dept heads and backups do?
(Preview)
Do they ever help your dept with the monotonous tasks or are they off doing their own thing? Do the head/backup work side by side every day or do they understand that sometimes you have to do what needs to be done to make the store look good? Does it take both to do the schedule? At our store it does. 2 peo...

Short-change
(Preview)
Does anyone know what the company loss prevention rules are for short-change? Here's the scenario: About a week ago I had a customer buy some things that came up to 10.71. I told her the amount. She dug in her pocket and pulled out a wad of cash which was a 10 and a 1 rolled up inside the 10. So I said that is 10...

Questions about number of seafood workers and pay
(Preview)
I work in a big Kroger store, I think one, if not the biggest in the Mesquite, TX, and possibly Dallas area. Our seafood case is probably a good 15 feet long, never actually measured. The meat service case is just as big. And there are only two people working seafood. Been this way for at least a couple year...

Taste of Italy
(Preview)
It's been a little over 4 months since I was let go from Kroger. well recently I went back into my old store and I noticed they are doing Taste of Italy again. Why? It failed last time and they are doing the same crap again. Sounds like the clinical definition of insanity to me.

What's considered small, medium, and large for a store in sales?

I work at a store that does $300k a week. The actual size of the store and volume of customers seems about average. There are 10 checklanes including sco, a fuel center.
