I work in the meat department, and all of our hours got slightly reduced this week, the week before thanksgiving. How does this make sense? :/ It wasn't cut by much, but everyone lost about an hour on average.

How long do you have to be with the company to get paid for the holidays?

While talking to one of the older employees that definitely knows more of the "ins and outs" of the store. He pointed out while i was on break that one of the workers was going to be moved to the front next week. This person worked in two/three different dept even the one i was moved back into. Se...

I don't think that Kroger should be open on Thanksgiving. Making employees work is taking them away from family. It should be a law that ALL stores, including Kroger, close on major holidays. It's just not fair. If they don't close all day then they should close at 5pm or even before to let the employees...

Hello. I was very fortunate to retire in 2008 with 36 years and 55 y/o. I took the level income pension. I am now 61 and will turn 62 in May of 2015. I now work full time driving a transit bus. The question I have is by working full time I will make more than is allowed under IRS rules. That will trigger a large in...

I don't understand how Krogers gets away with promoting associates, new title, more responsibilities ...with NO PAY increase! Your NOT doing the same job description as when you are hired??? And paying just above minimum wage??? Walmart starts associates $2.00 more. Where is the Union and who are...

I am just wondering, how long has the most senior employee at your store been there? At our store, there is a man that works in grocery that has worked for kroger since November 1958 and has 16 years on the next person in seniority.

......how customers go out of their way to clear off a shelve that has sale items on it, but skip over the few items that has loose labels on them. It makes you wonder. Would these same customers pass up a loose labeled item even during a national food shortage when there's a mad dash for groceries? 100% o...

With the seasonal needs here, my local Wal-Mart may or may not need additional workers. Since I have been a courtesy clerk with Kroger for nearly ten months, and had to be on parking lot duty at least once per day on average per shift, I am thinking about seeing if they need help with Lot areas. I think they...

We've lost a couple people recently and some people have had to stay over to cover shifts, but our dept. managers have had to cut 60 hours off next weeks schedule. All I can say is WTF? Between the 2 departments we have a total of 11 people and of those a couple can only work certain hours. BTW were a huge s...

I work in one Kroger and I went to another to get deli meat last Friday. I usually get the deli meat from my store, but since we just got Boar's Head in, my husband said to go cheap. Anyways, on our way home we picked up some Private Selection deli meat at this other Kroger. I didn't use it until Sunday, wh...

Our little friend Mr. Que-Vision said that we had 10 registers open on-and-off for nearly an hour. It was like The Walking Dead, every time you turn around it's another zombie-walker. Only no zombie-walkers, just Kroger customers. Some (like myself) would ask "What's the difference?"...

If you were store manager what are a few things you'd do differently? Anyone you'd fire or demote? Any under-appreciated people you would promote? Any policies you'd change? Just curious.

From Facebook for our local Kroger where I work : I get daily emails from KROGER about specials, and today is MEGA Event Sale day there. 38 cents for Green Giant and Del Monte Veggies, with card. I was able to get 40 cans of creamed corn, whole corn, green beans and tomatoes, all for 38 cents a can. 40 cans w...

I was wondering if hobby lobby would be a good place to work at, it's retail to. Maybe I should get a part-time job there during the holidays and find out. It's Christian owned, but I might not like hearing some of the Christian music all day long. i'm sick of working overnights at Kroger stocking, i'm...
