The union takes two amounts out of my paycheck - the union dues and a $.25 political donation. Can I opt out of the political donations?

If Kroger wants to be succesfull its time to pay employees better. If you offer 20 hours a week at minimum wage, you're going to get people who don't care about their job, people who don't plan to stay with kroger, people who use kroger as an inbetween from no job to where they really want to be. If a perso...

we have a variety of positions available (mostly bend over and touch your toes). Any other stores hearing this garbage? Can you work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and evenings? yeah because that's what I look for in a new job

Ok so we've been told that the sales = hours. The more you make in sales, the more hours you get. To me, this makes no sense. If a department is behind, then don't they need the hours so they can catch back up? I mean if you have less hours, the bare minimum gets done, which doesn't help improve your sales much...

I get my second week vacation after four years. I am at kroger 4 years thursday. I put in for my vacation next week. I will get it with pay. Correct? I just wanted to make sure i didnt have to wait til the first of the year.

can anymore tell me why ufcw unions will not help anybody get their backpay like it used to be? I just had a grievance meeting with Kroger and I wanted my backpay and the union would not help me get it. I know my union has changed a lot in the last few years and you cannot really trust them like before but when e...

I work at Kroger as a bagger in the mid Atlantic division and was wondering what is the 2013 policy on what hours a minor can work For our division and how can I contact the union rep for my store as I am only scheduled 7 hours this week but that isn't even the worst part... A few months earlier I was scheduled t...

I just recently thought about this and it seems like a good idea that could be easily implemented into the contract and would force Kroger to actually replace a shift rather than have one person do it. Many of you know I work in Meat Department and we're pretty much all topped out on full-time. A few weeks...

I've been unavailable for these two days for about two or three years now, all of a sudden this week they scheduled me on those days. I don't know what to do about it. The manager has been pushing me to open up my availability on those days (not saturday or sunday by the way) and now it seems like he's going a...

so I only got 12 hours last week... not much to tax there but taxes were 16.50... meanwhile the union took 17.75 and I was left with 63 dollars do they not care that I have rent to pay? what exactly is the union looking out for when they take money I really really needed to pay my rent with?

Hi all, Next week I'll be working in Drug/GM helping to bring in the Christmas displays. I am normally a courtesy clerk, but management has seen fit to shuffle me around to a few different departments here lately. Is Drug/GM a decent department or should I just remain a bagger? Thanks!

Just got called into work early. I'm supposed to be there at 5:00 and they want me there at 2:00. I told them the earliest I could make it in was about 3:15. WHY they ask. If I fill out a schedule change for a day off - WHY? I know Kroger is open 6 am to 12 am and they want me available those hours but do I rea...

SO, how often does the deli change meats? Like those big things of fried chicken, or those sandwiches. Do they throw them out every day? How long do they keep them on display? -- Edited by whattheAR on Saturday 2nd of November 2013 12:12:46 PM

Some of you may recall a while back that a guy in the deli where I work was arrested for breaking into a school, but he was allowed to come back to work after missing one night because he was locked up. He only lasted a couple more weeks before he was taken off the schedule completely because the store would...

Who thinks Hackett would commit suicide if he goes on that show? I for one thinks if he ever did he would honestly dipset as fast as he could. That or while he's recording his nightly take on the day, he pulls out a desert eagle shining it with the sweat of his slave workers then pulling the trigger ah can't a...

Many of us have heard/know about the new "Winning in Each Store" program that some brilliant bigshot a Kroger corporate was paid a gross amount of money to come up with. Well for the store I'm at, the focus department is produce because the produce isn't fresh or full enough according to the...
