Figured we could have a topic for comments, questions, funny or crappy experiences on self checkout. Today was my first official shift (8 hours, whew!) on U-Scan, or Self-Checkout (Express!). Prior to today, I had roughly two hours or so of training (about 2-3 months ago) before my official promoti...

I found a new way to cut down on out of stocks. I work picklist and sometimes I'll get an order that's entirely sub-free. No subs whatsoever. Well, to bypass that and keep our oos low what I do is this: 1. A customer wants 24oz Prego Meat flavored spaghetti sauce. For $4.99 we are out but we have the 48oz one...

Hi. I'm interested in working in a grocery store and hope some of you can offer information about grocery store employment. Kroger will be opening a new store near my home soon and I plan on applying. In your opinion, which department is best/worst? Why? I hope to get into the management training p...

The store I work at has a Starbucks with a café. And we do get their occasional homeless person for awhile. Most of them aren't a problem. Until now. This one guy decided to make one of the tables his domain. It's at the back corner so no problem, right? Wrong! Although he sits far away from everyone else...

I've been hearing "Summer Nights" from Grease lately at work. It's not John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The guy's voice just sounds generic. The girl's voice has a high pitched girlly sound with maybe a diva quality to it. Anyone know who it is?

I was told by some employee at Kroger that they were hiring and they still give hazard pay and I should cash in on it then just do the bare minimum and get let go. Im all for free money so when do they give this out to the new hires? gonna let 2 of my other friends in on this so we can save enough for a studio

Picking for clicklist and this old woman while looking at me pinches her nose and says my god you smell like sh-it then she walks away. Another guy looked at me and shook his head and said son Im gonna tip you 20 bucks on the condition you buy some soap, shampoo and perhaps a small pack of man diapers. I slow...

I think a big reason why retail theft is so out of control is because the businesses's front line of defense---their workers and even the loss prevention staff---are burnt tf out, bitter and hateful of their employers, who don't pay em SH!T, keep demanding open availability for all shifts, and cutti...

For those of you who work in the bakery, have you been getting in a lot of LaBrea bread that you didn't order? Here's why. Every store is different. Some breads are going to sell better at some stores than at others. So every store isn't going to be ordering at the same rate. Well, apparently the supp...

For those of you on the front end who cannot (will not) understand the SIMPLE concept of LEAVING ME ALONE when I am working my Utility Clerk shift, here is a list of what I need to do: 1. Sweep the front end and cart area hose down if needed 2. Wipe front doors down and empty trash by said doors AND outside 3. E...

Trying see if any current employees wages jump or just lip service? Kroger is spending $770 million more this year on wages and benefits for workers.

I'm just glad I work a job that lets me call out for a few days here and there. I have zero faith left in this company and won't risk coming in due to snow or heavy storms. I will no longer risk going in when the roads are covered in snow. If my store allows multiple people to skip a week straight of work due to sno...

Time consuming and very expensive: $15.99. You can get nearly the same amount of dough with streusel and pecans in a colossal coffee cake for $5.99. You're paying $10.00 for plastic beads and a plastic baby figurine that's going to be thrown in the garbage. I'm hoping the price keeps many people fr...
