Im status 3 at my store and always work 40 hours. This week though I was told by my department manager that our department hours were cut and Im only scheduled 12 hours this week. I talked to HR about it and they made it seem like a big deal and was saying I would lose my status if I dont work so many hours and said they would work on it but never got back to me with a solution and my only advice from store management was to call the next day HR would be there which is 2 days from now. Im just wondering if I would lose my status from one week of not working full time? Im fine with just the 12 hours this week but Im really confused how the status stuff works. What do I lose if I lose my status 3? Im Cincinnati/Dayton division.
At our store, working 40 hours a week for a year during a certain time frame makes you full time automatically. Status 3 sounds like a part time class. The status levels are for insurance I think.
Part time are guaranteed 12 hours a week. They can request 32 hours a week.
A full timer would have to miss 26 days to lose their full time status. They should be terminated by that time tho.
I think the change in status will mess with your insurance if you have dependents on your insurance.
The hiring manager in the store should be able to answer your questions.

I do know that the hiring person in the store knows the answer. Most stores were supposed to combine that job to one person for 12 stores.
I don't know why the op is concerned about the status level. kroger is going to give part timers as few hours as possible. The only thing that changes for a part time employee is their insurance eligibility and premiums.

Which the OP already knows or you coulda just said and left there---but NOPE, you gotta come on here like the All Knowing Voice of Authority, lol.
And for a sh!tty retail job?! I'd at least pretend to be a doctor or lawyer or something impressive. Well, at least your keeping within your means, I guess
