So Friday night..I work 8 and a half hours. 130 to ten at night...then I wake up this morning, only suppost to work until noon. BUT, a huge order came in...and I had to work until four in the afternoon. A nine hour day. So I'd say that this last week at Kroger has been crazy.
Try working 12 hours and 15 minutes like I did last night.... 4,500 piece truck,largest I've ever seen. We usually get 2,000-3,000 piece trucks,it's ridiculous as it is. Throw in the fact the deparment I'm in is already scheduled six days this week for the part timers...I wonder if they know what part time means anymore.
Thats Krogers new kick. They'll ask you to work over as a PT knowing they have a 40 hour buffer till OT. If they work you 6 days which in my book is FullTime days with PT status. Think they'd ask a FT to work 6 days?
PT as far as I know is Part of the week,NOT part of the night or day like for 5-6 hours for 6 nights. They have greatly distorted the PT title. Some have to work other places too.
THEY DON'T HAVE TO ASK FULL TIMERS to work six days because they are already scheduled for six days they want to work six days. and if the full timers work on sunday they only have to work for 4 hours and they get paid for their full 8 hours. i work part time and it is whenever they feel like scheduling me 6:45am and up until midnight. our store is open 24/7.
