So I've been working at kroger for over a year now as a bagger. A friend told me that kroger is supposed to give you a raise every 6 months. This never happened. Still making minimum wage. I went and talked to the stores union rep and she told me that baggers don't get that raise and we already got our raise which was when minimum wage went up. Is this right? I'm entitled to a raise aren't I?
I've been working there since early 2008 and i was told that they consider the government raising minimum wage our raise. I find this utterly pathetic but its true. They claim the government screwed it up and we can't have a raise.
If your "government imposed" raise takes you to a rate equal to or higher than where you should be on your pay scale, then you already GOT the raise and you got it early. If it goes higher, than you stay where your at until your length of employment catches up with your new rate of pay.
