Night stocking job at krogerrrrr
Permalink

I just started night stocking and recieved word from one of the co managers that I was working slow after being there for 4 days. I was not working slow at all I know what working slow feels like and it's makes the job harder but to know he said I was working slow was a low blow when I see other people hanging around talking, or on the cellphones r they not working slow. The nite crew manager who Is who I believe told the manager this. So what should I do about this issue I don't feel it was right to say I was working slow when I'm new to the store and I also had my work done an hour before my shift was over the isles I worked were juice and baking if that matters.

If you can do around 50 cases an hour then your doing more than alot of the other employees. Even the lumps that they don't expect any productivity out of and are drawing $500-$600 aweek just because they've been there for a while, and they very often turn a blind eye to them.

40-50 cases is excepted. It used to be only 35 cases per hour but theyre bs Key Retail pushed it to 40-45 then 50-55 an hour. The bake isle right now is getting extra due to Easter. After that it'll drop off. Hell, we got a  FT on the bake isle now that takes 3-4 hours putting 100 cases or 2 green carts full on the shelf, then spends another 2 hours blocking. Just so he don't have to go work on another isle.

You see full timers are there for the whole 8 hours 5 nights aweek. Where PT'ers are there in theyre definition for only 5-6 hours for 4-5 nights week. THe more the PT'er does, the LESS the FT has to do. SO when the PT gets worked till his eyes bleed then goes home, the FT gets to coast on through the shift. Its an old Mafia trick they think no one knows.

Kroger really does abuse the PT'ers much worse than the FT's. They sure as hell don't ask the FT's to work 6 days a week for 6.5hrs anight. Its the same principle they apply to the PT's.

Just count your cases. Spot it and time yourself. COver your own a$$ so you can throw it back at them. Also watch the others and see how much your doing. They'll phuck with you till your so called probation period is over. In the meantime they'll see just how much they can push you.

And remember: The harder and faster you work, the more they'll give you to do because it gives them less to do

yea dont worry about what he said. it was just cheap chatter. just keep stocking at the pace you think you are doing right now and all will be fine. sure go ahead and count your boxes while you're at it.
