Ever have a day from hell why working? Past sunday, second busiest day for us, had the following happen. Now it is the meat department and there is no full service meat and seafood cases but do have a four deck 12 foot long seafood case for product. Walk in as 7 am on a truck day and have a seafood case empty because of sales and nothing trayed up and ready to go. Every major ad item is empty and needs to be cut. Chicken and Ground beef empty because the night guy did not want to fill them and most of your counter needs reduced. Now to make it more interesting one is told the district man is on the other side of town ( 5 miles away) and is to be over soon. Set up saws and equipment to find a tenderizer does not work and one of two saws down. Now by 8 am your help calls in and leaves you by yourself until 3;30 because your closer just called and will be late because his wife is working and will not have a baby sitter until then. So now it is about 9:30 and you find that your only meat scales and labler goes down ( 15th time this year alone) and got to wait until someone come to fix it.
Now this could get a good person down but then this is not too uncommon in an older store with high maintenance issues.
But did not feel as bad when they discovered 12 doors of what was Ice-cream is now milk shakes and 64 feet of produce down from a blown compressor.
Days like this you just get a pizza, from the deli, and take an extended early break. Except the oven`s in the bakery went down too.
OMGG .. I can feel your pain................I've had days like that.. but don't think I could top that one!!! What did the district manager say when he got there?
