that's how ours is. 2101 for example is checklane 1. We also have several little walkie talkie type of phones that only work within the store, managers and most department heads have the little phones that resemble cell phones but seem to use really outdated technology. Basically they're junk, you can't hear on them, the features aren't user friendly and the dept managers mostly use them to call each other to takes breaks with one another. Just another big waste of money within the corporation.
We had a big problem last year with customers complaining that many employees were on their phones while on the sales floor, this is true, many employees did (while off the clock), however, I bet many customers were mistaking the store phones with personal phones. (the company is really working against itself here).
Oh and do all other stores have that lady that "parks" your calls for you? "there is a call parked for meat and seafood department on 1 - 0 - 1" then it repeats multiple times because some sorry ass customer doesn't realize that the meat department is not open at 11pm!! hurr durr. That lady that parks the calls is working open to close every day, she really needs a day off lol.
