overtime and vacation!

so apparently my new manager, the wackjob he his, says that if we don't take our vacation/personal days during the year then that extra pay is gone! PLUS, they are making everyone not have overtime, well I look every week and notice that the ones getting OVERTIME are the ones NOT DOING ANYTHING! produce management goes outside, smokes, comes in gambles, cuts some fruit, gambles some more then smokes again. Same for meat dep.

Can anyone please tell me I can go to my union rep. if I don't get my vacation pay, I have to pay for an apartment rent that I do not live in anymore because a no-longer friend of mine lied to me and took me for granted. I need that money! The more I think about failing college because of stress and psychological problems, depression anxiety anyone?, plus probably not getting the time i've worked 4 years for, the more I have a picture of a gun to my head just pulling the trigger. Although the gun is probably one that has a boxing glove in it to knock me out so that I don't sleepwalk from stress.

/fails another semester of college

they are correct. You do have to take your personal days and your vacation days during this year or you do lose them. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. You either have to take them now, or they are gone. Some managers allow people to work their week and get their checks for vacations but it's rare.

Not quite sure why you waited till december to use vacation and personal days. (not being rude) They never roll over, ever. It's even listed in the kroger rules and policies statements.

Now the overtime. get used to it. Your never going to get overtime. Our grocery manager gets 30 hours of overtime a week. Each department head gets around 8. My deli manager is a useless piece of ****. she fills the floor and does orders. In 48 hours a week, she does about 6 hours worth of work.

Kroger knows that they are this way, but they also know that everyone else will pick up their slack so it doens't really matter. There is no one to go to about the personal days/vacation days. To be honest, there is no one to go to about dept heads getting overtime. Overtime is at the discretion of the store manager.
