Does anyone know the Kroger anonymous phone number where you can call Kroger about inside theft, and other stuff that employees should not be doing and need to be fired for? Thanks!
I called that number today. Mostly because I was forced to leave the deli. I was getting write ups every day.. Today was becuase I missed 2 boxes on the frozen truck and because I "threw the boxes in the freezer, didn't put them away properly" Well, I wasn't asked to leave the deli, but everyone knows if they want you out, a paper trail is needed. so If I'm up front, no more paper traill.
I also know that a couple other people are going to be calling. So I'll let you know if that number helps at all. Or if it's just kroger's way to find out who is the "troublemaker".
I filed a grievance against CDL. Basically based on her draw the line, or you'll be sorry.. Friend in HR etc. But no one in the deli spoke up about her bullying and harrassment. SO it was her word against mine. The then district manager said and this is a quote from my manager "We dont' transfer problems"
And in our contract they don't recognize backups. We don't get any pay diferential. We only get payed when the manager is out for 5 days.
I honestly don't know what else to do. Talked to the co manager today and she said that the deli manager just has high standards. Nothing wrong with high standards.. If I can't keep up with her standards, they will just have to write me up every shift. Other people in the deli are basically afraid of CDL and the Deli manager. They don't want to lose their jobs, or become a target themselves. So it's just easier to keep your head down and let the dumbass that tried to stand up for them hold on to his principles as he walks out the door.
Ehh I will miss a paycheck but there has to be something better than this. It's basically a he said she said, because no one else will speak up. So I have to live with it till I find another job.,
Our shop steward used to tell people to call the harrassment hotline in order to get anything accomplished. We would ask for it and he would tell us to look it up that he didn't know. Once I saw this and double checked it through google, I sent it to him and now its posted on the wall.
I had a situation in the past couple of days that I thought I might have to use this number. It was smoothed over today and like thedude I really don't want to go into horrible detail over it in case somebody would happen to be reading this, but if I am ever disassociated with Kroger in the near future, I will tell more.

You got written up because you missed 2 boxes on the frozen truck and you didn't put them away properly? I think your deli manager is being ridiculous. Did the stuff get left out and thaw out or did it simply get left in the freezer in the back room? Our frozen order comes in on the same truck as frozen grocery and frozen meat. Mostly it's separated but sometimes things do get mixed together. If we happen to be missing a few items and the guys doing frozen grocery find them they'll bring them to us or they'll let us know about them. Likewise, if we find a few grocery items mixed in with the deli items we return the favor. As long as the stuff doesn't get left out I don't see what the big deal is.
As far as putting things away in their proper place goes, we do have a spot where everything should go, but it doesn't always work out that way. I work at one of the top 3 stores, as far as deli sales go, in my division. We have to keep so much stock on hand that sometimes you run out of room allocated on the shelf for a particular item and you have to put that item somewhere else. That displaces the item that was suppose to go in that spot and so on and so on. On good days we have only 4 trucks with things that won't go up on the freezer shelves. On bad days we have as many as 8 trucks. When the freezer is that full things never get put back where they belong. Somebody will get something out of a box and instead of putting the box back where they found it they'll just toss it up on top of the truck that's closest to the freezer door.
people take it down to use it. i've taken things down like the Weingarten Rights that were posted in the break room bulliten board once when i needed them LOL.
well fatboy - i'm shocked, astonished and beyond pissed at what goes on in Appomattox (or however the hell its spelled) Virginia. I'm so ready to anonomously call up your store and ask for both the deli manager and cake decorator then ask for their full names. When they ask who is calling and why I would say something like "I am Chad Cooper from the Ethics and Legal Department of Kroger in Cincinnati, Ohio. There has been numorous grievances filed against you over the past several weeks and before I have to fly my ass out to bumf*ck Virginia I want to know the damn names of the idiot employees I might have to terminate" That will lit some coals in their pants!
i would do it in a hearbeat but out of respect for you I do not wish to intrude on your dilemna and make it worse for you than it already might be. But yea we could all call the Ethics Line on your behalf....

As a matter of fact Fatboy - why dont you print up about 25 EthicLine phone number in real huge font. Take them to the break room and post them obviously on the Union Board then just leave them comspicuously on the table. Post them in the bath room. Hand them out. Tell every damn employee.
Now as a back up you do get paid a higher rate than an average deli employee right? Isnt there a district deli manager who could transfer you to a store in the next city?

honestly nothing else i can do.. Tried the union, management is actually on her side. Tried the anon phone line. (not trying to sound whiny) Just waiting to see what happens now
My last conversation with management was "there is nothing wrong with having high standards" So she can write up anyone for anything that she sees isn't in line with what she wants.
well honestly i would file Harrassment charges against her right away.
write up a well written statement that is very succinct about all the people at that particular store - deli mnger, cake bi#ch, comanager, store manager, produce manager, all who are in that ring. i would then march around to each and every one of them and give them a copy of it. i would e-mail it to the appropriate people at kroger corporate office (we can help determine who they are) plus to your area union field house. once this is done they by law must back off from you; they must do an investigation; they can not retaliate. make sure that you mention that all you wish to do is come to work happy, go through your shift doing your job happy, then leave as happy as you were when you came in. compare yourself to all the other employees at your store who do their job as efficiently as you do BUT do not have the harrassment.
now fatboy - i do not know who you are and i presume you have been on the up and up with us on this board. i do not know if you have done anything that would be construed as poor work. only you can look into yourself and determine if you are a good worker or not.
call the anon line back up and ask them how the progress is going. ask what their proceedures are. you called several days ago. i figue you gave their names and you prolly gave yours. i sure as hell would at this point of time. they must take this seriously and contact your store right away to investigate the matter. please tell me that you did give them your name! call them back and do another one and ask them or even demand from them in a calm, diplomatic way to get the ball rolling....

Well, I don't mean to be a downer, but I'm just at a loss when it comes to that anonymous phone line. I'm a nursing student who used to also work as a cashier for Kroger about 30 hours a week. (I wasn't full time, and told them I needed less hours, but they didn't care even when people requested more hours) The co-manager fired me for asking to take off 2 hours early on my 8-hour Christmas Eve shift (even though I requested it a year in advance and asked for the 2 hours off the entire week before when I saw the schedule) The co-manager fired me over the phone, and let me know that my store "didn't like my values" after I told him that I needed to go to church on Christmas Eve those are just the religious values I was raised with, and I want to keep them. Anyway, come to find out that he didn't even have the authority to fire me, so he basically tricked me into not coming in so that the general manager could have a reason to officially fire me. So when I called the hotline and filed a report ON CHRISTMAS EVE, they wrote it all down, but now it's January 23rd and I still haven't heard anything back from them. I'm going through steps with the union, but I really wanted and expected much more involvement from corporate, especially since this manager has always been a royal prick for no reason.
Keep in touch with your union. Keep calling. You should be able to get your job back. You just need phone records showing you spoke to him and proof you had requested it off. Even if that doesn't work, if that's your first no call no show, it should just be a CA not termination....
only mangemnet can write a employee up not the dept head if you cant get anything done with your local union go over their head go to the I assume its the UFCW just remember everybody has a supervisor
Also they have to fire in person not over the phone. I know this is a couple years old but just saying. I transferred from a different store with a certain day of unavailability & i keep getting scheduled for that day. Sent e-mails & it stops for about a month then starts again...It's in the system therefore on the computer as " UNAVAILABLE" when they write the schedule staring at them in the face... ( when they hire you with that on your application then they have to abide by it) & i've also told them to stop giving me 40 hrs. i only want about 32, there are other ppl with more seniority that should be getting those hours, nope.... week after week i get 40.
