i do my side work... without bitching... everyday.

i mind my own business.

i dont talk about or to anyone other than professional politeness.

my till always comes up right on the money.

i have been told i have great customer service skills.

i even got (gasp) a raise after 90 days!

i work 5-7 hours a day 30 hours a week.

so...why the hell cant i get one simple 15 min. break a day???confuseconfuseconfuse

You're being too nice. Stop doing that. Take your allotted breaks.

You don't deserve breaks.

sometimes, you have to be firm on the break issue, or they will run all over you.

my problem wasn't getting they, it was they never could figure out when i was "allowed' to take them.

Yeah.. In our department we tell new hires, "You need to look out for yourself for your breaks. You get 1 break if you work under 6 hours, you get two breaks if you work 6 hours or over. It's up to you to remember to take them and time them with others."

If it's time for you to take a break, tell a supervisor and take one. If they ask you to wait or tell you it isnt time, ask them when you can go. When that time comes, then go. Tell them, "The union guarantees I get a 15 minute break. If I don't get it I will file a grievance." Then follow through on your words.

I thought that Kroger was required to allow us breaks. Maybe you have a supervisor that keeps forgetting all the breaks.
