are we talkin about the total store inventory or just the perishable department inventories?

Total store inventories will definatly play with the store budget and overtime used if not done properly

Inventory Day, Ala Wal-Mart (this should make Kroger employees smile!) :

We have a store in a neighboring town that just went through their inventory....Here's the numbers.

600 K loss in shrink (That is fking EPIC)....$40,000 alone lost in alcohol dept.; $70,000 from Electronics. 67 K lost in front end....etc., etc.

On inventory day, there were NINETY THOUSAND outs plugged away in the back room.

The entire unloading dept. was fired, the store manager 'stepped down' (ha....RIGHT), two co managers were fired and three assistants quit.

Inventory isn't too bad, in my opinion. It sounds crazy having to be to work at 3am, but I'm a morning person. I work in the produce department, and I have almost no problem with counting stuff up. The worst part is the salad wall.

You dont have to count the sales floor right? Just the backroom?
We just have to do the backroom.
Id prefer it if we did the whole inventory though.
Is my store the only one that gets screwed with inventory?
Atleast half of our numbers get incorrectly changed when the inventory team rolls through.

Yeahhhhhh. They butcher our inventory, but oh well. I am not about to count our sales floor.
