your problem was you trusted them to not screrw you over, but you had enemies.
I'd try to fight it, anyway. Good luck.

oh yes! u can be fired for any little thing at any time by any non-union mgt. the key is that u have the right to a hearing with representation which hopefully is ur local union. but like the other posters said they musta already had one of their 2 legged store rats spying and reporting on u and ur activities. Now do u really want to go back to that rathole knowing that they are gunning for u??
in this day and age even McD's is a stepup from Kroger so take this as a good opportunity to better urself and work in a friendlier environment.
sorry that euphenism went over ur head dere bag boy.... let me CLARIFY MY POSITION....ALL RETAIL SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can u be fired for something over thirty days old such as shopping on the clock. It was my first offense.
You can be fired for this offense no matter how long ago it was for a very simple reason, Kroger is firing you for "stealing time" and according to their policy stealing time can be punishable whenever the offense is caught. However, there's a lot working in your favor if you still want your job back.
1. You are in a union, talk to a union representative and you WILL get your job back
2. Your time clock was 'broken' even if you didn't write it down, they can not fire you for their equipment not working
3. Just because you didn't punch, doesn't mean you still weren't on break. Argue you tried punching and it didn't work.. you didnt want to waste more time of your break trying to punch out so you just took your break
Make a list of names and dates..Notes like who said what and what you said. If they do fire-you, then get online and let the EEOC know what happen... Good Luck you will need it to win...........
