So I live in las Vegas and I am planning to get a medical card so I can posses and use marijuana legally. But I was wondering if they random and i fail can they still fire me even though I have a card that makes it legal?
It'd be just like alcohol. When you signed papers during the hiring process, they most likely included drug and alcohol policies. Regardless of whether it's legal for you to possess, if you show up drunk off your ass, you're fired. Having legal possession of a substance doesn't allow you to be on it at work, or even have it in your system.
first off - Kroger doesnt random test. They just do the initial one at hire. So I wouldn't be too concerned about drug testing after you are hired. But yea coming in to work after smoking a big fatty probably isnt a smart idea. however 90% the work force already does it (or is under some form of pill medication) so you might fit right in

And if I had a prescription for narcotics for an injured back or broken vagina, I'd be written up or suspended if I came in high as a kite. Regardless of whether you'd be allowed to use it legally, if you signed papers agreeing to not have <insert illicit substance> in your system, they'd be 100% within their rights to fire you on the spot if they had strong enough suspicion of drug use to test you and you failed.

Only way you're off the hook with other-wise illegal drugs on the job is for things like marijuna prescribed for A.I.D.S or opiates prescribed for cancer. And if you're suffering from either of those (or some other similarly bad condition warenting similar treatment) conditions, you're not likely gonna be getting high, let alone psychotic on the job; you're more likely more concerned with keeping a pay check to survive.

You probably signed some drug policy form somewhere along the line. Possibly when you were hired. I seem to recall some form at my store saying that medical weed is unacceptable.
After the initial drug test at hiring, there won't be any more drug testing unless you are injured or something stupid happens.
If they did random drug testing at my store, they'd probably have to fire at least a 1/4 of the employees.
If you can smoke up and act passably sober, you might as well. It would probably help with customer engagement, and make a stupid job less awful.

The only thing wrong with weed is that it's illegal. I don't think you should work while you're high, and potheads can be serious scumbags, but it's a harmless substance.
I know a lot of very productive people who use it for medical reasons and even recognition. I use it for medical. And you wake up just fine and alert and ready to work. Drinking is way worse and wake up The hangover. Educate yourself obviously don't know much.

If you have a dr note just give them a copy and it'll be fine. If you don't you'll be termed for use of a drug. In wa state it's legal to buy and use but if you have an incient at work, test positive you're termed. If it's medical it's dr protected. Just give them a copy of the note.

This is why associates are stupid and lazy. Good to know that Kroger doesnt pay you druggies a living wage.
They dont even pay us non weed smokers a living wage. This is why nobody turns in cash, gift cards that are found, nor are any tips declined. I've found a $50.00 kroger gift card yesterday and let's say that will pay for snacks and lunches for a while. I also have no qualms about keeping tips or cash that I find.
