Kroger clothing for employees.

Alright, So I've worked for Kroger for years and we've always been able to wear a plain black jacket as long as there is no hood and our name tag is visible. Today they tell us we can't wear these anymore. I asked about those smocks and they say we can wear those. Which is strange, since they don't say Kroger on them; They probably figure they are so ugly that customers will just assume that you'd have to work there to wear it. Or we can buy a Kroger brand jacket that looks just like the one I was wearing (I'm assuming it's actually junk like everything else they try to make us wear. I like to look professional at work and find this hard to accomplish with the "One size fits all" aproach they have with their dress code), but I have to pay them for it. It's annoying because a majority of employees just went out and bought special black jackets just for work, as our store is freezing and has no heat at the moment. Now we have to buy another jacket that we can only wear at work.

Sorry for the sob story, but my question is: Does anybody know the website for this Kroger employee clothing, or have any input on if they are worth buying?

We also have to wear black or white undershirts, I know this has been a rule for a while, but I only wear grey undershirts. (Side note: Whites look worn too fast and all the black starts to make me feel like I work at the funeral home.) I just feel it's asinine to exclued grey as if it's not a neutral color. Not a big deal, just silly and I doubt it will be enforced in about a week..

Thanks for the input.

At my Kroger, we have an ordering sheet in the break room. You tell the CSM or manager what you're interested in buying so they can order it for you. The cost depends on the size.

just dont wear it for a couple weeks then start wearing it again.  managers need things to bitch about and then they move on only to forget about it a few days later.  just knod your head and do ask they ask and when they turn the corner cuss them out some andin a few days things will go back to normal.

Haha, it is always great how in-store issues everywhere seem to be a 2 week issue.  Once the two weeks are up, time to focus on something else and forget all else.

Its true, too. I have countless times seen postings by the timeclock about dont do this, do that, we do it for a couple a weeks, then right back to where we were. whateves. I was looking for the website, myself about a month ago looking for one of the hoodies that a fellow coworker wears that she won from some outing or another. Seems like there is one, but its a secret..

The clothes don't look that bad. The prices are pretty high ($50-$60) and it takes 2-3 weeks to get to you. Shipping is extra and you even have to pay tax though they are based out of California. It would be nice if the store had these to look at before you shell out all of that money to find out you don't want it or it doesn't fit. Even then you'd have to pay to ship it back and then I beleive you have to receive credit from the looks of it. Awesome.

Oh well, 1st world problems. Thanks for your help everyone.

You should be fine if you are in the back and they certainly can't tell you not to wear it in the freezer or cooler. Worst they could do is make you wear their jackets instead.
