wrongful possible termination.....

The new policy book is a joke! Read page 36. WE have to abide by the Kroger rules, and follow them to a tee, but.. they have the right to change the rules anytime they see fit. O was the Meat manager  until Last Tuesday ( I had requested to step down to a grunt on August 1, 2013). Yep, didnt get out of it until December 17th. In the mean time, an employee had gotten fired after repeated 5 day suspensions and blamed it on me. (Accountibility my butt) He and his mother vowed to see to it that I was fired. So, imagine my suprise when I got called into the office on my last day and there were not one, not two but 3 complaints that had come in on me in one week! Really. I think this fish smells pretty bad dont you. So I am now awaiting to see if I will be terminated. I went to my store manager and stated my thoughts on the subject. HE just laughed and the Asst mgr got pretty darn sober in a hurry. I had gotten the spheel that "we are a customer 1st base company, and it will prob result in immediate termination. My question? How many customer complaints have come in since I have been working there.. Mgr: Uh.. none.. OK then, dont you smell something kinda fishy about this. First off I would never tell a customer that I would not wait on her F***ing mother, second, I would never tell a customer that I dont have the time for her bullsh*t. 3rd I would never refuse to order something for a customer.  With this new policy, I explained to the Mgr of my store, that I could just pick some random name out to the phone book, send a letter to Bamford or Whoever and get someone fired for nothing... All he said was "true".... Hmmmmm.. Sure wish that Kroger would protect their employees rather than listening to whiney customers (who have been provolked by a discruntled employee) and do a little investigating. OK, off my soap box now!!!

Were you the Meat Manager or the second man? The employee that got terminated for 5 suspensions, were they in the meat dept too? It does sound fishy, I would demand to see the letters of complaints that they said came in on you during that week. Have you called the Union yet? How long have you been employed? Reason asking....they (management) could have their own agenda, trying to get rid of you for some other reason.

Yeah, you definitely want to take this to your union rep.

I would contact your union representative and write them a statement. Did they not know of what the mother and son had threatened and were these on days that you were working? They would be able to pull of video evidence and surveillance of the individual who made a purchase/swipped credit card/register/etc.

You'd also have to go through a suspension first before they could terminate you.
