Red shirt question
Permalink

So we had to wear red shirts that said something like "we're here to help you!" on the weekends. Then a few weeks ago they were all gung-ho to make them our week long uniform and made the announcement. Then like two days later they declared the red shirts were gone for good and we were going back to the blue polo uniforms. Wtf is going on?

(I never made the switch myself. I only got hassled one time by a manager but I told him I never got one because they ran out when I was supposed to get one. He told me he was going to get one for me and then forgot.)

Blue polo all day every day for me. Wearing a T-shirt to work is tacky to me, especially if it has some idiotic phrase like, "Ask me anything!" Or "We're fresh and friendly." Not to mention the T-shirts fade out easier, they often clash with your outfit, and they are hard to have an undershirt with.

We must be in the same district.what I heard is that OSAT went down and they attributes that to the red shirts. Y

My thought is you can't  make a descision like that off of one weeks worth of data.

When I saw the subject line, I thought it was going to be a question about Star Trek.

they did exactly the same thing at our store however after a week the red shirts were gone altogether because someone complained to union that if full timers had to wear the shirts all week then they (per contract) should have 4 shirts and until they could do that, they couldn't enforce it 7 days a week..

doesn't matter anyway because i hear we're getting new "fresh and friendly" shirts anyway

when we had the atlanta division refresh, full timers were issued three shirts and we wore them something like a month longer than originally planned because customers liked them.  now we're back to the annoying polos.

Aren't redshirts the ones that always got killed on Star Trek?

Southwest Division here.

Oddly enough, even though Southwest Web also has that Fresh and Friendly theme going on at their site, in stores our focus is on "Low Prices" and "Fast Checkout".

Which is why starting tomorrow, we'll be wearing blue t-shirts that say "How can I help you today?" on the front and "Great food. Low prices." on the back.

Signs are also hung around the store like "Faster checkout", "Great Selections", etc., all in the same blue theme.

Annoyingly, we're apparently only going to wear the shirts for one week. Two weeks at most.

Talk about an utter waste of money.
