My thoughts are that the contract was bad how they did it Lomax will not let anyone on the committee tell Kroger what they see is at issue..Because Lomax threaten the Committee members of tossing them off the bargaining team if they said anything he didn't like.Which if you allow only one to talk then what's the point of the committee. I'm like this let each of the committee members have a free voice with reason point out things in the contract they needs to be fixed or adjusted for the union members benefit and not have a dictator running the whole show If you want to call it that.
That's why this contract failed to pass is because Lomax was put in charge of health care issue which is a big issue.
The Spousal issue need to be addressed better even if it takes the employee's paying a little more on spousal health care like $20.00 a week to keep you spouse on your health plan I see its ok so your only paying $25.00 a week for both you and your partner but your kids its like I think $2.00 per child or something like that not bad at all. But they should have came more open to the table I feel. But how many of you would be willing pay more to keep your spouse on your insurance then to toss them off it and pay for AHA which will might cost you more in the long run. So please tell me like to know.
Then to allow Kroger to nickel and dime us to death and not give us a real raise..
Not fixing the issue with Starbucks and Fuel Center wages is another issue and make them equal to a normal clerks pay rate, Because those guys are on food stamps and Kroger or the Union seems not to care about a honest day pay for a honest days work for a living wage. Just think if Obama gets 10.10 a hour on minimum wage and they keep the wage top rate at $11.75 for full-time inflation will eat that up so no one gains nothing and you will be paying more out of pocket for goods and services. I would before to have a Contract that would keep up on the rate of inflation so if inflation raises so does our rate of pay within the lifespan of the contract.
If we strike kroger won't leave they can't afford to loose the atl division plus the stock holders would go crazy. We bring in way too much revenue so if a strike is called don't be afraid to walk off. But let's not get ahead of ourselves no one has said strike yet. leaving Lomax in the presidents position was a terrible mistake on our part but our union as a whole lacks the back bone required to fight for more money or anything we really need.

Joe Q Public will think to himself, those lazy bums want it all for working retail. They don't see the meat cutters, order clerks, or frieght crews. They see some kid pushing carts or running a register. How many folks will actually go on strike?
