So, my store is switching to black aprons starting tomorrow. I was only given a blue one and was only notified about the change on Thursday by the form of a note by the time clock. I asked about getting one then, but nobody was able to help me. Am I responsible for getting a black apron on my own or are they responsible for giving me one?

Kroger should supply you with one.
That is odd. We started with black aprons and switched to blue ones.
Just be glad you can have black, our store has black ones but people keep stealing them so I'm stuck with the ugly bright green simple truth apron. But they should give you one if anybody says anything just say everytime you asked nobody had any for you, depending on who you ask sometimes they just don't care enough to help, I asked for an apron for a week and I finally found somebody willing to help but the box was empty so it was no good. Depending on which department you work for ask your manager if they don't help go ask one of the managers up front or HR they might help, but in my store it depends on who you ask and their mood so it's almost useless to ask people anything.
