Could someone please tell me about a energy transfer letter? What does it say and how can I request one?
I am part time and signed a bid for a full time position at a different Kroger location. I've been working for Kroger for 5 years now and want to become full time. I was denied because another employee put in a energy letter. Never heard of one until I was denied. Thanks for any help.
You have to be full time to put in an energy clause. You get it from the store manager you want to move to.
In my state, it is almost always department managers that use the energy clause. 98% of the bids are for department managers or department lead positions.
If you are full time at one store and there is an opening for same position at a store closer to where you live, then you can try to get that position using the energy clause. But, you have to be full time first.
Keep signing bids. I too am a part timer that is signing bids. I am not desperate enough to sign bids for 60 miles from my home but it is in the back of my mind.
No idea what this is. I'm full time and am interested at finding a new store but not necessarily as a lead.
Might not be in all contracts. Ask more senior coworkers at your store about it.
Basically, if you live closer to another store, you save fuel. Good for natural resources and environment. It is called an energy clause. If a bid for the same position you have becomes available at that store, you sign the bid and make sure the manager of the other store has your energy clause paperwork. Or, when you call for an interview, mention an energy clause. I am guessing the store managers would have something you fill out. Some people have the paperwork on file for a long time.
Thanks for the info. Right now I've been part time for 5 years and would really love to work full time. I guess I'll continue to look in the bid book for full time positions. This was not a department manager or lead position. This was a posting for a full time clerks position. I'm hoping more full time clerks positions will be posted but who knows.
