Personal days?

Question about personal days, aren't you supposed to get paid for them? I've been working for Kroger for about a year and a half, I requested a personal day off for last week for a doctor appointment and it was approved. I looked at my paystub today and I was not paid for the personal day, just the amount of hours I worked the rest of the week.

to my understanding, nobody at any company gets paid personal days. It is a day that you take off for personal business.  On other hand, if it were a vacation day, that would be another matter entirely

at my store you get paid ph days

question is do you have any ph days available

if so someone probably forgot to put it in for you. let a manager know or ask them who does payroll and tell them

they can put it in for the day you took off and you will get it in your next check

Per our contract, full time employees get 2 paid personal holidays a year.   Part time don't get any.

Also, you'll need to write it in the book if you want to get paid for it, just like vacation time.    As anon already said, just get with the payroll person or management and let them know so it can be added on a later check.

Thanks everyone! I'm just going to go in and talk to a manager, see what they have to say

Yes, you do get paid for personal days, but you have to write it down on the time and attendance sheet hanging by the timeclock in order to get paid

Here part time employees get 2 PH days too and all we have to do is request it on eschedule.
