So i already know the answer, just looking for confirmation. I have a family member who is new about 4 weeks. After already getting his schedule off of e sched on Friday, sunday it was changed and at the store it was scratched off and hand written. Nothing was said to him can they do that??? I am pretty sure thats why we have a union....
From my understanding, the schedule is not final until like Saturday morning. Until then, they could do whatever to the schedule without issue. So what probably happened was it got changed at the store, but the changes were not reflected on e-schedule.
They like doing that, it's pretty rare that my schedule that comes out Thursday evening is the same that I actually work. I usually don't complain because extra hours, but it throws wrenches in in plans that normally would be okay.
I've started taking a picture of the schedule with my cellphone.
I like that spirit. If the online version never changes, though, wouldn't a copy or capture of that be adequate evidence, if needed?
It's evidence enough for me and my union lol! I started doing it after I went into work one day and the comanager and floor supervisor said "you're 15 minutes late". I said no, I'm reporting to work according to the hours on the schedule, someone changed it too late and didn't ask my permission, so........which register do you you need me on?" Of course I said it with a big smile!! Nuff said!
And I'm willing to bet they assigned you a register, and walked away. They pencilled me in to work one day during my vacation last year, but I did a "no call, no show" that day. I came in to work when my vacation was over to find a write up
In need of my signature. Needless to say, I told them if changing the schedule after it was posted, and not asking my permission. That write up never did get signed...
And they are just dumb enough to try it. It's sad when new employees get taken advantage of. I used to be the "unofficial union rep" when I worked the night shift. Of course I appointed myself to this position. Everyone came to me with questions because our union steward gets of work at 1:00 pm.
I'm pretty familiar with the employee handbook now too.
