It's Getting Deep
Permalink

The comanager that was angry because I wouldn't clean up my blood is out to get me.  I'm filing a grievance and have talked with the union.  My union rep said do not say a word to her, or anyone else at the store.  He couldn't believe what she did.

Yesterday I was not given my break.  The day before she pulled me from Drug/GM and made me work the last register by the door for 2 1/2 hours in the cold without proper clothing on.  She walked by me and said "oh, it's cold down here" with a big smart ass smile.  She did it on purpose.  So I finally shut the register down, found her and said "we need to rotate employees on that register, it's just too cold to make one person stay down there".

When she walks by me she just gives me this hateful stare.  I can tell she is pissed.  So today she made up some lie and wrote me up.  She said "remember the other day when you were not feeling well and you were angry and threw that lady's chips?  She called when she got home and they were all broken".  Well, there was no lady with chips.  I wasn't angry, I didn't feel well and was near tears.  My customers were very kind and sympathetic.  And why if I was mad, threw her chips, why did she wait until she got home to call and complain?  Then drive back to the store to get more chips?  Doesn't add up.  So I didn't sign the write up.

I need to call my union rep again first thing Monday and let him know she is bullying me and lying.

On a positive note ....I had a customer come through my lane last night and ask who the store manager was.  I told him his name, and that he had left for the day.  I asked if anyone else could help him and he said no, he would call in the morning, he had a complaint about that lady manager and described the comanager who is harrasing me.  LOL!  I was very helpful, told him exactly when the best time to call would be, made sure he had our store number, etc.

At some point you should seek legal counsel you could have a pretty good lawsuit if things keep getting deeper.  You should talk to a lawyer very soon about your harassment at work.

you should find out what the corporate number is and give that number to customers to complain to if it stays in store will probably just get swept under rug.

start documenting the things she is saying and doing and people who may have been a witness to it ( write it down )

I forgot another thing she did.  I was at the end of register 5 bagging for the cashier.  She walked up to the cashier, stood right in front of me, and offered her a cookie.  I knew she wasn't going to offer me one.  She didn't.  Then she walked to the next register and gave the cookies to that cashier and left.  Just had to make a point "you didn't clean up your blood, so there, no cookies for you!"

She has offered us ALL candy, food in the past so I know she did it on purpose.

My union rep said not to say anything to our store manager or the district manager, he will handle it.  I guess I will call him Monday morning and let him handle it.

I think I will take my husband shopping on a night I know she is there and wait around until it's busy and she is on a register.  Before I unload my cart I will ask her to clean the belt first.biggrin

She's smart.  She singles me out and waits until there is nobody around.  I think I need to just tell her tomorrow that she is harassing me and I want her to stop.  I will tell her from now on if she needs to speak to me I need my union rep or a witness present.  And I might hit record on my phone.  I always have it in my smock or apron pocket.

I swear she was scaring me Friday morning.  She had this hateful tone in her voice and this strange look on her face.  No expression, just these cold souless eyes.  I swear it looked like she was death.  I'm not kidding.  It was spooky.

Thanks for the help.  I will get the number to corporate and keep it with me.

This lady has shown she is a "bitch"! Sounds like she definitely gets off on power trips! Document everything that has happened. You will definitely need to take steps to keep yourself safe!

I'm keeping a list of things she has said and done.  All together you can see it's harassment.  If you were to single one thing out though it would look like I'm a 2 year old who didn't get a cookie.

.. at least your manager will pay you for your hours. We had to go to union because our unit manager wasn't paying us for the days we worked.

NEVER sign for a write-up, regardless of circumstances.
There is no policy on the books saying you HAVE to sign anything other than forms when you are first hired.
You have the right to refuse to sign. Exercise it extensively.
