Almost any union job except for UFCW is high paying and easy. I knew a buddy who shuttled people around a railroad station in an SUV and made near $60K a year. Literally everyone with a class D driver's license would have the "skills" for that job.
A shuttle driver at my campus makes $16/hour. Though, it's part time in 3-4 hour shifts, it's not so bad. You literally just sit and drive around a route, stopping every now and then.
The problem with construction jobs is your out of work. Roomie went to an electricians union hiring thingy and they told him 6 months out of work. I did event with the millwrights and they said the same. They also wanted about 5 percent of your paycheck for dues. And another 20 bucks a month if you were working or not. Lotta overhead at the union office. They do train you, but that will cost you in "book fees". A lot of companies wont pay for union construction either.
No magic bullets out there for jobs. Good jobs are in demand.
