C.C. Lead. Need help badly.

So long story short, I was asked to join the CC by our NEW store co-manager, then put in charge of the CC Lead.

I hardly know what the CC is but no one wanted it. It appeared to be some hangout and giggles club once a month.

After the first meeting, our co-manager is asking me about the agenda, and all this information I'm supposed to have. Asking me 'Why haven't you put in the minutes?" ...wtf?
When i say "you never showed me I how to do that' she rolls her eyes. Or if I ask for information about what our agenda is, she gives me answers like "its what your store made it out to be"
"Which....is???"

"Your the lead... you tell me?"

How am I supposed to be successful with that attitude?
Mind you, I've received no paperwork. I just simply asked to join, lead, and agreed as long as I got training, never received training, just showed up at the first meeting empty handed and expected to do it correctly.
And now she is upset with me because 'I'm not doing it right'. I don't know whats expected of me.. at all. She is not helpful at all. I have expressed this and I get answers like above. Nothing helpful.

I don't think the old CC ever made up an agenda or action plan. I don't even know how to find out.

What is the agenda and action plans?

Now we got mostly new members, and it's the blind leading the blind. Is there anyone that can explain what's expected out of me as a lead? In details that could help? All I know how to do is enter safety observations.

New fiscal year is starting soon, and I would LIKE to start it out right. ANY advice would be great. If I am going to do this, I want to do it right. Our store needs a morale boost.. BADLY.

So please, tell me how you spend your 2 or 3 hours, what things do you cover in your store? What are you minutes like?

I assume you're meaning cultural council.  They do nothing here.  Management had tried to turn it into a employees pushing company programs scheme.  Everyone I know who did it quit doing it.  Unless you've got to have an extra hour of pay a month, tell 'em your busy next time; its voluntary.

Yes the cultural council.

I could tell them I'm off it, but that doesn't do my store any good. We do get paid. We got a new store manager too, she's trying to be helpful but doesn't know how to be helpful.

I don't mind doing it, but if I am going to do it, I need to know I'm doing it right. To my understanding everything was bull****ted before. All Safety Observations were fake, everything was b.s'ed.

Get with your ASP when he or she has some free time. If I'm not mistaken, the ASP has access to Cultural Council material that can be printed out and either used directly or serve as a template to work off of. Your ASP should also have a binder containing materials specifically for Cultural Council. Once you have access to the material, you'll at least have a foundation to work off of.

I'm sorry... but what does ASP stand for?

He or she is your store manager's administrative assistant. Ask your new store manager who her ASP is and if he or she can assist you some time in gathering together Cultural Council materials. He or she should have access to a secure network where material for programs like Cultural Council, Star Safety 360 and various other information is stored. Also, as mentioned earlier, your ASP should have a binder put together with Cultural Council material that he or she may be able to make copies for you until he or she has time to look up and print out the material on the secure Kroger network.

Then the next 30 to 45 mins. was talking about O SAT .... Then after o sat we talked about safety...... Then last half hour was picking employee of the month and any other things that need to be talked about like fundraisers or store parties..... I have been off the Council for 14 months... you'll need to get email access.  being lead is more complicated than all that.  there's district meetings, occasional presentations, posting of meeting minutes online, problems getting members scheduled.  i can't say i've seen any progress we soldier on anyway.

the agenda will be on the kroger network and usually includes watching some bs on ktv to start with, talk of certain issues, osat, survey questions, picking the associate of the month, doing stuff for the community and so on.

safety is a usually different committee.

Any chance how to get on the kroger network? I do have email access. Is that enough to find my way around or do I need management help for that too?

When you login to citrix to get to your email, there should also be a link to Internet Explorer which will take you to your division's home page.

I am a cc lead and cc is only a joke if your people and managent don't care. First your store manager needs to get you email. On the main page of your division there will be a tab for departments and then cc. Every member should have a roll. You should assign rolls and make sure they follow through with there responsibilities. Bookkeeper-keeps track of funds, note taker-self explanatory, someone in charge of the cc board-keeping it up to date and neat, news letter-this person should be getting extra time every month to create a news letter. Those are just a few of the rolls. Cc should be in charge of all store celebrations like thanksgiving and holiday meals. You being the lead means you are in charge of wrighting an agenda before each meeting. You basically make a game plan of everything that will be discussed during the meeting. I would like to know what division you are in I could send you a book that tells you everything you need to know. You should also have an assistant manager at every meeting and once a month be attending a district cc meeting. Your A SP should be making sure everyone is scheduled for monthly meetings. Cc is also in charg of employee of the month and other in store programs. Cc can be fun and helpful but it's only going to successful with a good leader and good management support. I am with frys district 2. If I were to have questions or need help I would reach out to Theresa Tucker. We do a lot for our store and we also support a local charity. We put in functions like Halloween and other things like that. For summer we did a bbq bash for our assiciates. You just need to take charge, don't let people be in there phones or chit chatting about nothing. Its up to you to build a good team. You can recruit people and you can vote people out if you feel they are not there for the right reasons. When I came into my council it was a mess and now everyone in the store knows exactly what we do and come to us when they need info. Good luck and I hope you succeed

Oh my gosh, thank you. It is just helpful understanding what expected out of me more than anything! I would LOVE a book or information. But I don't want to share to much about where I work over the internet on a public open forum. Is there a way I can contact you privately?
Feel free to email me at heavenallfields@gmail.com. Our meeting is next week and I really want to show up prepared.
