I am an employee of Kroger in a non right-to-work state. I started as a courtesy clerk and after 2 or three months my manager switched me to a meat clerk. When I switched departments, I had to switch unions as well as obviously courtesy clerking would be a different department than handling meat. 
Here is where things get messed up, when I switched departments, the manager at the time had me switch to a union that wasn't the correct union. Therefore, for the past  six months or so that I've been a meat clerk, I was paying 15 dollars at the beginning for initiation dues and then 10 dollars a week for union dues for 6 months without technically receiving any union representation at all. If I had been fired, I had nobody that could really represent me, even though a total of about 300 dollars minimum (54.5 hours of hard work while taking 15 credits per semester of college classes) had been used towards me receiving absolutely no union representation. So my question   is... What do I do? The union rep of the correct union I am SUPPOSED to be represented by stopped in yesterday to drop in the contract I'm supposed to sign which would     require more initiation dues, but he didn't stay long enough for me to even get to the store and I haven't been able to reach him. This whole thing really grinds my    gears.
