What the heck, Union?

So after being harassed by the union rep a couple months ago, I finally decided to join the union so the rep would leave me the hell alone and the rep told me it'd be a 70 dollar initiation fee and 7.45 member fee each week. Well after 7 weeks of them taking ten dollars out each week, I finally hit the seventy dollar mark and was thrilled that it was over. WRONG. For some reason I looked at my pay stub tonight and it says that they took 2.50 out for initiation fee. How the hell can there be more than that 'one time fee'? Any thoughts? I know it's not much, but if I'm told seventy dollars is the only fee besides the membership fees, than I expect only that one time fee.

Talk to your union rep and ask them why they are taking out additional fees from your check. Ask the union rep if they are willing to reimburse you for the additional fee taken from you. They were the one who told you it would only be 70 dollars, afterall.

Generally its 10%. Ex. 8.00 /hour fee is 80 bucks. 10.00 /hour 100.00 bucks. thats starting pay. Etc. etc.

7.45 would be 74.50 initiation fee. If I am correct.

Ahh that makes sense. A little twisted for Union, but oh well. I hate the Union sometimes

Your first and most costly mistake.

Also, you're saying that I can harass you long enough that you'll just give up and pay me to stop? Sweeeeeeet~!

The rep that harassed me into joining was replaced, so I'm pretty happy that the new rep is more proactive. Still dont like this thing that they tell you of a one time fee of a set amount, and it turns into more than that.

Are you *really* this stupid? $2.50 * 7 weeks = $17.50. That is the money that has gone towards the initiation fee. So far you have paid $52.15 in MEMBERSHIP dues, and $17.50 towards the initiation fee.

Internet rule #0: Every user in the World Wide Web and the Internet is male, unless PROVEN otherwise. Even with "proof", it is still acceptable to continue the use of the masculine pronouns due to the ease of falsifying said "proof".

Hold on. That's not what FuelGal said. The 2.50 was only this last week; the 7 weeks prior had 10.00 deductions.

Yes, it was 10.00 for the seven weeks prior. Uboat, I'm actually pretty smart. Just because I did not emphasize what techelite clearly read does not mean I'm stupid as you have called me.
