Do you all see employees who will get shifts they don't like and just call out "sick" because of it?  I only want to do what I want to do when I want to do it! Boo-hoo!!

They come & go on their own schedule no matter how it screws the dept. They call out without consequences but in a pattern that defies coincidence.  They also bitch about how everybody else is doing their jobs wrong or when somebody is late or calls out.

I try not to call out. i'd rather get the money >_>

but, yes, i have seen this sort of thing... they normally show it early and either quit or are let go.

i have this co worker who is always 1+ hr late. EVERY TIME. So she decides to stay an extra hour each time without approval from anyone, and she does not get in trouble. I feel like the only reason why she does not even get a write up is because she is in the union and she has worked there for 8+ years. She's a useless co worker. Not good at bagging, lowest cashier scores in the store.

I like how week after week this one young high school kid with less seniority than me got more hours.  I didn't claim any because I wasn't worried about the hours or money at that time.  Well one week I needed the hours and that effer had a fit when I claimed some of his hours.  He ended up with one less hour than me (I do try to be fair when I claim hours) and boy did I hear about it.  "Thanks for taking my shift",  "thanks a lot", blah blah blah every time I saw him.  I never said a word to him.

Next time, take MOST of his shift. He can just DEAL WITH IT! He don't like it? Well tough ****. That's what I did to this one guy. Hell, if I'm accused of taking the shift, I might as well as take most if it... I left him with the bare minimum required by his position. He NEVER accused me of claiming his shift again when I nabbed a few of his hours (2-3 hours). Sorry, but I tend to be a bit vengeful when I'm accused of something I did not do.
