Check your contract to be sure.  Every contract is different.  Ours you have to work during the holiday week to receive pay and part time workers get between 4 to 6 hours holiday pay.  After 3 years you get a 50 cent premium per hour if you work the holiday plus your extra 4, 6 or 8 hours.  See how that works?  Each contract is different.

I can't believe people join the union and don't know what they pay over $400 a year for.  (Not saying OP is union).  Why even bother with the union if you don't care about it?  If you have to come here to ask questions than you are just wasting your money on union dues because EACH CONTRACT IS DIFFERENT!!!!

Yeah, contracts are going to vary from area to area, so that's the only way to know for sure. I just know that I work in Southwest Division and get double time for New Years, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I know I won't be getting anything extra for working on Memorial Day.

In Cincy/Dayton, you do get holiday pay for Memorial Day. I'm on vacation this week so i'm not sure if i'll get that holiday pay or not.
