Sorry about that. Krogrr doesn't bother to train folks, generally.
You know, I didn't think to mention it earlier, but contracts tend to have probationary periods (45 days, for example) during which the company can fire for nearly any old reason. If your son was brand new, there may be no recourse through the union. If that's the case, consider yourselves lucky: now he can go work somewhere that is likely more decent, humane, and rewarding.
Thank you. He was terminated because he didn't know how to do his job properly, but then he was never trained.
What position did he hold? What state is he in?
Generally, if he signs the termination paper, the union can't do anything. He should still try to call them.
When an employee is called into the office for anything where there job is on the line, they should have a union rep(shop steward) present.
I have never heard of anyone being fired for not doing their job correctly. Usually, there should be several warnings and some coaching to get them up to speed before termination.
It sounds like your son may have been within his probationary period. Did he start working less than 3 months ago? If so, there's nothing you can do. They can terminate you for any reason or no reason at all within that period.
And it's rough. It's not that they have banker's hours as much as they have hours that bankers lust after.
And you call them again.
And maybe you accidentally get ahold of them after a week.
Or not.
But if you try really hard and just keep calling them until you get a response, they just tell you to quit.
Because the whole thing is a racket.
The whole thing is a scam to funnel union dues to union executives and their family members (or the mob) while idiots leave messages on answering machines. The end.
