Feel bad about quitting...

I'll start off by saying Kroger was NEVER my main source of income I just used it as a side job. I worked overnight grocery for almost a year and my weekly checks never went over 150..Recently with hours being cut my checks was around 80-100 bucks weekly which I saw as a waste of time. My night manager bitches about EVERYTHING under the sun when it comes down to isles. Either I have too much back-stock, not conditioning enough etc. Lately I've been extremely tired and just could not handle it. I have a full time day job and a part time online job to add to the mix. So that makes 3 jobs for me! I was going to quit back in oct/nov but we were severely under staffed. Like we literally had nooone so I stayed to help out. The other night I was working my isle....then I just like walked out. I went outside for like 30 mins to see if I was going to go back inside then I did. I finished up my isle's and left. Then never returned. My manager keeps calling to see whats going on with me or did I quit. I feel so bad to just quit a job like that. It's something I have never did. But we do have alot of new hirees so I'm sure they will be fine without me. This is basically just a rant. But should I feel bad? I feel like a coward for just leaving without saying anything but thats what everyone else have done who worked with me overnight. (I'm a 21 yr old female by the way so don't think im a weak guy)

I feel bad for you that you feel about about this. Please don't punish or even question yourself for one more minute. What happened was, basically your body took charge of the situation your mind, moods and spirit were suffering from......and simply walked you out the door. HA! I love it. No different than trying desperately to break a record for holding your breath-----oh yeah, you're gonna LOSE that bet and gasp for air at some point!

Best to you in the new year.

Don't feel bad.  If you don't enjoy it, don't force yourself to stay if you don't absolutely need to.

Move on and look forward to bigger and better things.

If you get anymore calls from the store, it would probably be a good idea to let them know you quit so the calls stop.

I have a similar story,

I used to be the backup File Maintenance clerk for a big store. My Scan Coordinator was always a bitch to me. She would stress me out so much, talk **** behind my back, and no matter how hard I tried and how much work I did, she would always find something bad and yell at me. One day she got injured, and was off for an entire week. Which meant I was by myself doing two people's job... and luckily,  that same week I got an interview and job offer somewhere else.

She comes in the next week and (not surprisingly) starts complaining on how I missed a few signs and tags. So I snapped, and let her know about my new job. She then tried to get revenge on me the next day by making my life a living hell pressuring me to hurry up, and that I missed a tag here and there (at the same time I was getting called to run a register by the managers).

So what I did, I decided to just not show up at anymore, I already have a new job I was starting in a couple weeks.... That next day there was a TON of prices changes for our Holiday promotions, and I wasn't there to help out. I probably had like 10 missed calls from Kroger on my phone lol. I did feel kind of bad at first, because I later heard that my Scan Coordinator had to stay 10 hours to finish....but then I thought all the crap she put me through during my time with Kroger. I got my revengewink

I am not very happy at my new job, where I get paid more and get treated like a human being. Unlike Kroger where I was treated like someone's little bitch.

Long story short....I would not give it another second of your time....let it go....for in the end....Kroger Company does not give a damn if you live or die.
