I just started working at turkey hill in PA and I know the Oshawa regulation is after 6 hours u are entitled to a brake of at least a half hour to eat or whatever, my store does not allow brakes at all. How can I make sure the law is being followed without getting fired?
If you are union, read up what it says about breaks. Normal union breaks are one 15 minute break for a 4 hour shift. One 15 minute break and a 30 minute lunch for a 6.5 hour shift. Two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch for an 8 hour shift. File a grievance with the union.
If your store is not unionized, refer to the federal laws. I don't think OSHA controls breaks except for operating heavy machinery. There should be something posted in the break room or easily accessed at your store that shows the Federal laws. If they are breaking them, file a complaint with them.
If it is the City of Oshawa, file a complaint to them so they can enforce it.
laws for break ended a few yrs back on fed level... here where i am our state ended any laws on breaks, so in theory a company could make you work a whole 8 without one. fact.

No state or federal laws where I am at.
I worked 8 to 12 hour shifts (fast food) quite often. No breaks.
we dont have a brake room and no we are not union. my manager has only been there two weeks longer than i have been with the store, and let me just say he is an arrogant ass. im just trying to find out the best approach and as far as contacting a law department for kroger i dont know where to find the information
no one is driving a train we only have one person on each shift and for every company i have worked for it has been the law to give brakes after 6 hours. im working 9
how did you do it. im trying to find the best possible way to deal with standing for that long in one spot and not moving, i have the best shoes i can afford. advice on how to make it better is greatly appreciated
I remember when I started working I took a break on my own.
When I got back I got asked who told me to go on break.
I didn't get in trouble, but I was told to ask next time.
It would have helped if communication had, you know, been present, because it was never explained to me by anyone about break policy, either during orientation or when I started on the floor.
Of course, this was the same management where when I started I asked to rewatch the video on bagging, and was told I had seen enough of it already.
God forbid an employee actually try to figure out the way to do things in this company.

If it's the law in your state then file a complaint the your states workforce commission.
