1. Be EXTREMELY careful when handing change back to your customers as to avoid giving them too much or too little change back.
2. When counting change back, do NOT let yourself get distracted by another customer or employee; EVEN if they get mad. What they need or want to say can WAIT; unless it's a BONAFIDE EMERGENCY.
3. When in doubt about a method of payment call your supervisor rather than make the decision yourself
4. ALWAYS request to see ID for tobacco/alcohol purchases just to cover your end. EVEN if they look over 21. While it may not be required at your store, it's best to err on the side if caution rather than make a costly mistake.
5. NEVER give your register password to ANYONE, unless it's a need to know personnel such as management. Other checkers, dept workers, courtesy/utility workers do NOT have a need to know your register password to sign on and off
6. NEVER, EVER leave your register drawer open or remain signed on when you leave. EVEN FOR A SECOND. Sign off EACH TIME you need to leave. It takes just a second for someone to gain acsess to an unattended register that is "signed on" and help themselves to cash in the drawer. That means YOU get in trouble should things turn up short.
7. NEVER override a denied check, ATM/debit or credit card. It is declined for a reason. Call management to see what should be done
The hell is a joint cashier? Are you going to be an accountant for a crappy drug dealer in your parking lot?
No, no, no. Msemma is not A joint cashier, she is going to joint cashier. As in help, assist, or something like that. Only courtesy clerks can get paid to deal drugs in the parking lot.
