my shift is for 12am-6am on monday. does that mean 12am sunday night into monday morning or monday night into tuesday morning

Yes.  Midnight on Sunday night is actually the start of a new day called Monday.  So on Sunday night, right after 11:00 pm start getting ready for work with your goal of being at that store when the clock gets to the 12.  Then when the sun comes up and the clock says 6 on it you can go home.  It will probably have some zeros on it so it will look like this:  6:00

if it says 12am on monday, then yes show up at 11:58 pm on Sunday to clock in. Once the clock hits 12:00 it's monday.

my guess is OP was embarrassed he couldnt read his own schedule so instead of asking his managers for help he comes online to avoid face to face verbal abuse lol.
