Filling in as grocery mgr at another store
Permalink

Anybody have to cover a grocery mgr shift at a another store? I have to do it this week without knowing anything about the store and their particular way of doing things or knowing any of the stockers and their strengths and weaknesses. I'm sure everything will be fine  but I have to admit i feel alot of anxiety about having to do this

A friend who was once a department mgr had to do this very thing; he worked a nice store in a decent, upper middle class area. They sent him for a week to cover in a store in the worst hood you can imagine. Nothing bad happened to him personally, but he lost his car stereo. Window busted out and everything.

If it's for a week who gives two ****s? Go there, do the paperwork, back stock reviews, etc, walk the store and make sure ends are to specificatons, then go back to your own place.
