Suspended until further investigation
Permalink

Before i start keep in mind our store is a marketplace and very busy everyday. Management took away our cart pusher machine TWO years ago because the previous courtesy clerks were abusing it. So basically us present day and new coming CCs are technically being punished for something we had nothing to do with, doing hard labor for no reason being forced to push carts by hand in that huge traffic-jammed parking lot ever since then and it's very exhausting for us.

Ok I was using one of our old janky cart straps when i first came out on lot duty. I racked up some carts and had to pull the handle a little harder (because our cart straps suck) which pulled a muscle in my arm. I toughed it out and decided to just push 5 carts with just my other arm. As i'm about to bring in the carts, there goes my supervisor standing by the garage with her arms crossed. Without asking me why i'm not using the cart strap, she calls one of the upper mangers and tells her i'm not using the strap. So the manager comes outside and asks why am i not dong my job. I explained to her why and she doesn't buy into it. She sends me home and tells me that "I'm suspended until further investigation".................

Is it really that serious to get sent home over a damn cart strap?? I was still doing my job. I shouldn't have to go through this just because they're being dickheads and making us CCs push carts by hand when we could have the cart machine and not even come close to struggle with getting lot cleared! It's so demeaning to me. I would love to quit but my store is right down the street from me and pays the most in our area.

Seems Kroger bitch about the smallest things ever. Let me know what you all think.

The union will throw that out in a heartbeat, that should have been a warning or a write up at the most... unless you've been warned about this several times before, someone's just on a power trip.

Yeah, I'd fight the hell outa that. I've seen these bitches---sorry ladies, I know the guys can be real dick heads too, but let's face it, it's usually WOMEN who get into these power trips---get on the crazy train full throttle. Best thing you can do is fight em right back at EVERY damn turn they pull.

Did you sign anything saying you read the rules or received instruction?  If so, they can use it against you, and they will.  The only thing you have to sign is your timesheet, and we don't even have those anymore.  Anything you sign can and will be used against you.

I've been telling people for years, on ANY job, never sign ANY thing. "Oh, well then you just look like a trouble maker, just sign it and start doing a better job, they wont fk you, you're just being paranoid". R I I I I I G H T. Naw. What they're doing is stacking up YOUR OWN AMMUNITION to fire you with----AND THEN use against you when you file for unemployment! "You see? He says right here where he signed that he knows he's a piece of shiit, don't give him ANY thing!"

Go to a doctor and get checked out.  Or you can call a personal injury attorney.  You can get doctor, therapy, job back and settlement money.  First visit to attorney is free.  Doctor first, attorney second.  Walmart and CVS have those cheap walk in clinics, $40 to $60 but worth it to prove you were injured and take to attorney.  Having to work with worn out equipment (strap) is not safe.  Attorney might want to give OSHA a call too.  This can be made into a BIG DEAL in YOUR FAVOR.

It's not like you don't have time to do it, you aren't working right now.  Good luck.. Sue their ass.

Have you completed your probationary period? If so, you need to contact your union rep asap.
