I recently finished my online computer training. Which honestly wasn't very helpful to my position. Does Kroger give other training to cashiers? Or do they just put you on the schedule and expect you to learn it yourself? Also, any tips would be helpful as well.
From what I've seen, new cashiers are never just put out by themselves immediately. The schedule writer might put "Training" or something like that on a day of your schedule and the front end supervisor will put you with someone who will train you.
When I started with Kroger, they did the computer training and then you were put with a cashier for a couple days training. By the time I left it was lucky if they got a couple hours training on the floor before being left alone.
New cashiers are supposed to be put with an experienced cashier, for a day or two. In reality though, Kroger schedules so little help that you'll likely find yourself by yourself on your first day more often than not because the floor supervisor will probably pull the experienced cashier to open another lane when it (frequently) gets backed up.
Most of our new cashiers quit within a week or two (they just stop showing up) because of how miserable Kroger is. Hopefully that's not the case for you and you have a better experience.
