Moved to the Pharmacy, Still Paying Union Dues
Permalink

It's a pretty straight forward problem: I was transferred to the pharmacy from the Front End as a clerk, and there is no union in the Pharmacy. I wasn't told that I'd have to leave the union or draw up any paperwork, and honestly, I still have not been told to do anything like that.

I have been paying union dues since the transfer back in November, and now that my hours have been cut to about 9-12 per week--with maybe 18 at most, on GREAT weeks--that $8.65 is looking fairly important, since it's paying for 'protection' and benefits that don't even extend to me. I spoke to someone, and they said they'd contact the union...but it's looking like it could take -months- before this issue is resolved. Is there any way I can expedite the process, and maybe get in contact with the union myself so I can be both reimbursed and taken off of the union's roster?
