To me, they are one and the same.  I do not know what the KMP stands for.  Ours come from Bluffington, Indiana.  They do have several other warehouses tho.  I am guessing kmp is an old timer term before the warehouse was bought out or merged.

Even tho the pallets are usually 7.5 feet tall, they are normally stacked solid with small products.  I have had very few fall over like grocery pallets over the years.

On frozen food boxes, the KMP has dollar signs on it.  Like it's where they make all the money.

Peyton's is for slow moving products and/or specialty foods.  One warehouse serves several divisions/companies.  Peyton's is sometimes called the CIW (common item warehouse).  Allows Kroger to offer large selections without having to build large warehouses in every division.

KMP is Kroger Made Product.  The $$ probably mean a double ring.  Profit from the manufacturing plants is given back to the stores based on their KMP purchases, and carries a higher mark up.

KLP is Kroger Label Product that is made by an outside manufacture with a Kroger label on it, although it is generally lumped in with KMP.
