I was interviewed yesterday, and they made take a drug test and fill out typical paperwork.
I have a lot of questions.
1. What do we wear for orientation?
2. I live in a "right to work" state, and I understand that Kroger has a union sort a thing. I don't want to join due to personal reasons.
3. Exactly how long is training for people aiming to be at Cashier?
4. Do we get paychecks weekly or bi-weekly?
5. I was told that we have to schedule our own training days by the hiring manager. I haven't received much info about the training center except that it's 25-30 minute drive. Will they give me more info in emails or phone call? I just don't like being left with little to no information about important things.
6. I'm having issues trying to join Yodel. What can I do about that??
On another note.. The admin email doesn't work at all. I keep receiving emails being bounced back, so it seems like my account on here will never be verified. Lol
However, I'm at a loss of what to do right now. I only received some fancy email, and it linked me to Onboarding. Then it wanted me to sign up for Yodel, but it won't let me make in an account on Yodel. I need a special id for it which hasn't been provided to me yet.
1. I just wore something business casual, black slacks, nice shirt and brought a note pad, pen, and my wallet with my ID in there. But a lot of other people came in with jeans and t-shirts on. Just make sure you wear some comfortable shoes for the store tour.
2. Not sure about this one. As I know we had to do sign it before we left orientation. But if it's something you truly don't want to do. Might have to talk to management about or something I guess.
3. No clue on this either. However, all I can say is that. I hope Cashier training goes a lot better than it has been going for me in bakery. I hold no grudges against my actual trainer over there. Just our store is going through a move to a new location and with the holidays being around the corner, as well as other stores are opening up in surrounding areas too and we are helping them out. Not to mention the lovely days of doing clean up on our own new store. So it's been kind of hot mess city for us right now lol. Most especially as I feel like some of the other trainees that have been there longer than I have, still don't quite know what they are doing at times either. So I can only imagine/cringe when I think about it coming around time for me to "train" someone else one day.
4. Definitely get paid weekly, every Thursday before noon! Definitely think that is one of the best perks if not anything else.
5. I have no clue about training that way. You might have to talk a manager about that possibly. I know when I tried to ask someone in HR about my training, even they had no clue about stuff like that. But I figure as Cashiers are on the front end of the store. Maybe a manager might know more and be able to help you out with your training.
6. I have yet, to use Yodel. So not a clue about that either.
Overall good luck. Time flies when you are busy, and definitely try and remember to get your breaks in. Working on your feet can be murder at times.
