Question....Worked for Kroger in San Antonio for 13 years...they went to settle my 401K and claim I only worked for 6 years, basically cheating me out of 7 years of work...since the years were in the early 90s it is difficult to get tax forms to prove I was there.....anyone else have this problem? Or know how to prove when one worked without shelling out $$ to the IRS to get copies of my tax forms?
Years of service when it pertains to retirement and 401k at Kroger is based on hours. You have to work a minimum amount of hours each year for it count as a full year. If you work less than the minimum it counts a half a year of service. My question to you is were you part-time the whole time, part of the time, or were you full-time. If you were part time that could have something to do with it. If you were full time the entire 13 years then i would definitely look into it.
