Basically as stated above. Been here 8 years and have been asked by the managers at my store multiple times if I want in. I'm just nervous about how hard the background check is. It happened after I had been with the company for a long time,so I haven't said anything, but would obviously have to disclose it if asked.

Depends on the crime I suppose.

If it was DUI, then I doubt it would hurt you.  Rumor is you have to drink hard to handle being a manager....

If it was theft, domestic abuse or some kind of sex crime, then It will probably get you disqualified.

As for being fired, that would be up to the store manager to decide since you have had 8 years to show your good qualities.

Out of curiousity, what was the misdemeanor conviction?

Most background checks are only for the past 7 years.

Hell, even security clearances only care about the past 7 years.

If it was not a felony, don't bother disclosing it. Most applications just ask for felonies.

My mom called a well known carpet cleaning company to have her carpets cleaned.  After the guy left, she discovered some of her jewelry was missing.  Luckily, it was easy to identify and the police found it in a pawn shop.  Turns out the guy who stole it had  been on parole just a few months before.  The manager of the carpet cleaning company says he did a background check but apparently it wasn't a very good one.

What is your point? Nothing you said was relevant. At all.

Thugs encouraged to apply for management.  Felicia Delk and Jon Young will keep you employed once you're in the management gang . . . don't you worry.
